Hydraulic Shop Press Brake

Hydraulic Press Brake

One of the most useful things you can have in any shop is a Hydraulic Shop Press. 20 ton presses are available from Northern Tool, Harbor Freight, Grizzly, and other places from 150 bones to over 500 depending on the features. A hydraulic shop press can be used to press in bearings and bushings, straighten or bend metal, and all kinds of other tasks.

There are even press brake attachments that can be used with a hydraulic press that make it even more useful…but even cheap ones are over 300 dollars. (just saw one at northerntool.com for $329)

Swag off road (swagoffroad.com) makes a kit for a DIY for about 150 bucks plus shipping that has all the pieces laser and saw cut….just add welding.

This video shows assembly and welding of the press brake kit. This will give you a heads up for what you are in for if you ever decide to order one.

Or maybe some ideas for building your own…But for me, Its worth 150 bucks to have most of the work done for me and have a quality tool when I am done.

I think the folks having the most trouble are guys using internet explorer. Try downloading Mozilla Firefox (http://mozilla.com) if you’re currently on Explorer. I’ll bet that will fix it. If that doesn’t work, you may need some other updates.

      Regards, Jody

  4. Neat project. The narration is very quiet & sometimes not audible on your latest videos, compared to weld noise. maybe double check your audio settings. Thanks for the show!
