  1. What is duplex welding. What kind of test is it….Thank you for your help, and, video…

  2. That’s what us hull welders call the Chinese vertical

  3. Absolutely right about walking into a test booth with a machine dial that tells nothing after driving for hours. Good down and dirty amp test for the extra confidence. Good welding and video quality.
    Thanks, Shamy

I’m a retired steam fitter welder and I’ve learned a lot from your videos.I tell the young apprentice to check out your web site. On the tig root I would walk the cup or rather wiggle the cup no wider than the rod and watch it sink in the middle. One other thing,I was doing a lot of aluminum tig welding and had trouble getting it to light off.It turns out aluminum particles were embedded inside the cup and shorted across when I tried to light off. The cure ,throw cup away and put a new one on.

  5. I have seen ammeters that take a reading above one wire ,without breaking into the conducting wire. Seems like it would be a good way to match amperage on different machines

No tips from me just a lot of thanks. I’ve been at this for awhile and it’s a great how to and informative site. I like to use your knowledge at the union hall along with the info I’m given by my union brothers.
You are an asset to the welding trade.
Btw bought me a couple tig fingers and some vids, well worth the money.
    Thanks again and God bless.

  7. Not a pro welder, just use for personal and friends, and my enjoyment. Being in a farm/ranch thrashing bee club I get the chance to make engine carts, cast iron repairs, … Etc. I would like to get your thoughts sometime on a problem I continually have when I attempt to weld say a 1″ tube (axel) to a flat plate, thickness is not the issue. I don’t seem to be able to get down into the contact area where the pipe touches the plate. With MIG it is a little better, but I question the quality of the weld. With 6011 stick I end up with burning through the tube/axel at some points. Is there a trick, besides much more practice?
I know I am only learning, but would not have even started without Your and other videos, and yes, I use your TIG finger!
    Thanks, Tom, age 69.
