Properties of Stainless Steel – Part 2
One of the properties of stainless steels is that it sugars on the back side of welds if not shielded with argon or with some type of backing that draws the heat out and traps enough argon gas to prevent severe oxidation. Here are some tips for backing up stainless without a complete purge.

Nice demonstration. Most of the stainless we do at work gets laser cut before the pipe fittings come in and they always cut the diameter at least 1/8″ too big. Stainless is not easy to fill gaps. Not to mention keep straight too.
