Hello Jody,
I have a few questions for you. How do you extend your tungsten electrodes so far out of the cup without having problem of oxidation? Is it a matter of a larger gas lens/cup arrangement with extremely high gas flow? I’ve tried this and cannot make it happen.
Jody,
I believe these parts are pressure molded with a mixture of zinc, aluminum, and maybe some tin. Nasty stuff to tig.
I appreciate any replies to this problem.
Really enjoy your video’s. I am not a welder. I am a heavy equipment repairman. Most of the welding I do is crack repair and hardface buildup. Can you do a please give me your thoughts on carbon arc gouging of heavy plate and the best way to prep it for welding. Thanks.
Jody, always appreciate your weekly videos. Can you please include GTAW on base metals such as titanium, superalloys, cast irons and pot metal? Thanks.

I Noticed that you used a horizontal handle on your tig torch, did you make it or purchase it?
Thank You,
Thomas
