  1. Hey Jody,
I’ve learnt more from you than anyone else when it comes to welding!
I love the way you americans can explain the right way to do things in a way that is so humble and informative. BTW I love my tig finger, I have 3.
Keep up the good work mate!

Thanks and please keep going. BTW I love the Tig Finger, bought one for me and one for my friend – they’re great, plenty of smells in the shed but no more cooking flesh.

  3. In one of your video you talked about cup size on the torch I also have a 175 square wave and I think you said to use cup size 7 or 13 ? thanks alot and great videos

  7. Jody I’m a certified code pipe welder and I have to say, You’re the best welder I ever seen.

  8. Hi Jody I am really enjoying your weekly videos. Several years ago when I was looking into MIG welding aluminum, I kind of stuck my foot in my mouth when I asked why if TIGing Al. needs AC don’t you need AC to MIG weld Al? I had forgot about the cleaning action and the extra heat.at the torch electrode. However in the response I received I was told that there are AC MIGs but that they are very expensive. Any insights would be appreciated. By the way I have done a lot of Aluminum TIG welding with my AC Sears 230 amp buzz box with a Montgomery Wards Hi-freque adaptor and an old air cooled torch. Lloyd

  9. Hi Jody:
Just a quick note of appreciation for the effort and information you share on a weekly basis. I am one of the thousands of hobbiest welders who have gained enormous gratification in welding of all sorts (Tig, Mig, Oxy/Acetylene). Over the years wrought iron fencing / gates, enduro karts, cars …. endless applications. It remains a very pleasurable journey of learning, continuously trying to improve and being able to achieve some basic level of competency. In this context, I really look forward to your weekly videos of common sense, practical information and instruction. Thank you again for your honest, most enjoyable delivery.

  10. Thanks so much Jody as a newcomer to TIG I get so much out of your videos. And I love your style. Thanks again mate

  11. Jody I think it would be interesting to show the difference between an inverter and a transformer type machine. Most of the books are stuck in the transformer type machines, for example using zirconated and pure tungsten to weld aluminum, balling tung, etc. Love your videos, Thank you. I may need a tig finger I burn up a lot of gloves! In fact make gloves out of tig fingers, LOL!

    • I too would like an explanation on the differences between inverters and transformer welders( how they work and why an inverter can be used on a lighter power supply) Lloyd

  12. I’ve tig welded aluminum using dc for misc aircraft parts and it looked pretty good and besides that it was sound. Granted the process is nearly foreign to aluminum, but it’s used. What was the benefit over ac…no clue, above my pay grade so to speak. Great work as always.

  13. I said it once,I’llsay it again. Jody your a heck of a teacher. The best I’ve ever had.
