What filler were you using on the 6061? I was just curious if it was ER5356 or ER4043. I guess my question is how critical is it to match fillers on aluminum? Crater cracks or delayed cracking being the biggest issue I could think of. Can’t wait to hear from you. Thank you so much for all your videos. Keep up the good work!!
My understanding is, from talking to my LWS, that it’s the same helium. They called it a “party pack” and it’s about the same size as a “Q” cylinder, maybe a tad smaller. However, the refill was almost double in cost. So the initial savings in the cylinder would be gone after a fill or two. The salesman said they just charge more to people that use part packs because they can. I called them a bunch of vultures, but they know I’m only playing.

Has anyone used those balloon helium tanks? About 14CF
For what little art welding I do, instead of paying 100’s for a tank at weld supply.
USA welder.

CAN YOU JUST USE STRAIGHT HELIUM VS. A “Y” WITH ARGON ??
