Roy and I are working on several other videos too….one of which is some type of cylinder and calls for 4643 filler wire. ( but the weld crown gets machined off)
More often than not I use 4043 aluminum tig wire…but I also keep some 5356 and 4047 on hand.
What type of Aluminum TIG rods do you keep on hand?

Great shots of some seriously excellent aluminum welding. My question is this…what is the benefit of welding at 120 hz? The reason I ask is because when I’m working in the race shop, I have a lincoln precision TIG 225, pretty much a run of the mill transformer machine. When I’m here at the house I have an HTP 221 with all the bells and whistles, many if which I’m sure I under utilize. I do most of my aluminum welding at the race shop, so when I get to the house, I generall just weld aluminum jobs up at 60-ish hz anyway since that’s what I’m used to. In a nut shell the way you say it, what’s the upside of the higher freq? Thanks.

Good Stuff!
They just keep getting better, I was disappointed it was over so quick.
I am enjoying that big Tig Finger. Now I need a couple more so I don’t have to
initiate a search when I forget where I put it down.
Thanks Jody,
