  1. One thought on this job. I like to weld the short sides first. This does not stress the tacks by welding the long side first. I have had the tacks break and the part pull away. Also, I am putting some helpful preheat into the thicker part.

Thanks for the videos. I really enjoy them.

  2. Jody, Props to you for your great resource of tips and tricks.
I loved the last video w/ your son Jake’s guitar playing…..
You should Parlay that as a CD compilation of that for the Weld Monger Store.
My Son Jake and I could agree on that as background in our “Weekend Warrior Shop”.
It would go along with the “Redneck Fung Shui” environment we’ve got going just fine.
    Best Regards,
    Hillbilly Greg

  3. Long time viewer, love the videos. You were like a second teacher as I went through school, I would go home and search for vids that related to what I was learning at the time and you had the best, you make the sight of the puddle almost exact to what us welders see. Much respect. If you get a chance I have been looking for advice and a video on welding anodized aluminum, cant find one anywhere so I requesting from the best out there. Appreciate all you do and love the tig finger

  4. I use the tig fingers, great product. Some of the rednecks I work with shrug them off as a gimmick. Hey! I don’t burned (…maybe they like bubbled up burns on their fingers) Your info has been invaluable, and, has helped my confidence in different approaches to solving problems. Great video, God bless.

  5. Hi Jody once again a very informative video look forward to receiving one each week, would it be possible to do one on silicon bronze butt welding of .08 mild steel as used in automotive repairs and a bit of custom work using oxy-acetylene, and tig welding.
Been welding for a good while but you still seem to show that there are different applications and methods that can be used to various tasks.Cheers Bert

  6. Always love the tips and tricks a whole new level with the sweet guitar licks!! Keep up the good work!!!!

  7. I look forward to your videos each week. You keep it real & in words that are easy to understand. I’m always interested in good tips that help me weld better & hassle free.
    Thanks
    Fred Knowlton

  8. Awesome stuff……….!!!
You should have the guitars playing in the background on all your videos……..!!!

  9. I have been welding since 1966 starting out with oxy acy welding 035 4130 air craft frames. I bought a miller gold star 300 and opened a weld shop in 1973 “Quality Heliarc’. I have learned more from your videos then all the years I have been in business. The videos show the actual weld being made as the rod is applied. no words can duplicate that. I have a very good hand –but your technique has improved all my welding time and signature twice over thank you
