One added suggestion for your adapter setup on that scratch start torch. That large chunk of brass that you’re connecting the stinger to is electrically hot and very easy to accidentally ground out. If this happens, say on a steel catwalk you’re working on, or the steel table you’re working on, you will not have a good day.
My solution to this(that I saw some other guy do long, long ago) has been to cut the bottom off of a clean 16oz plastic soda bottle. Slide the torch cable through the small opening in the bottle and then connect the gas/power adapter. Clip on your stinger and slide the bottle down over the whole assembly. This will give some insulation to that setup so that accidental contact won’t create sparks and arcs you don’t want. It will keep the stinger from moving around when you drag the cable to the next weld and it will help that awkward assembly slide past other things on the ground without the stinger popping off.
I love your unpretentious, clear, no “I LOVE MY SELF LOOK AT ME” style videos.
Clear, Clean ,Precise & down to the point. 5 min clip is 5 min learning.
Some 5 min clips have 4 min BS of people who like to watch them selfs.
I bow to thee honorable master J.
Thanks a mill

Dear Jody,
Do you have any plans to make a video gicing details of the butt weld purging set up youve used in this film?
Cheers,
